Leadership

Assoc. Prof. Engr. Ibrahim Hassan, PhD, FASEM, MNSE, R.Eng. (COREN) serves as the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Muhibbah Open University, providing strategic leadership for the University's academic, administrative and institutional advancement. He oversees initiatives that strengthen academic quality, research, innovation, governance and student success while guiding the University's continued growth as a centre of excellence in open and distance learning.

His leadership is defined by a commitment to academic integrity, institutional excellence and expanding access to quality higher education.

Academic Background & Vision

Assoc. Prof. Engr. Ibrahim Hassan holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Bayero University, Kano, a Master of Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and a PhD from the University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom. A Fellow of the Academy of Science, Engineering and Management (FASEM), a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE), and a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), he brings a wealth of experience spanning engineering, higher education and university administration.

He is committed to advancing technology-enabled learning, fostering research and innovation, and preparing graduates with the knowledge, practical competence and ethical leadership required to make meaningful contributions to their professions and society.
