Aliyu Ibrahim Usman MNLA, CLN
Aliyu Ibrahim Usman serves as the University Librarian of Al-Muhibbah Open University, Abuja, where he provides strategic leadership for the University's library system and the development of innovative, technology-driven information services that support teaching, learning, research and lifelong scholarship.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science from Northwest University, Kano, a Master's degree in Information Management from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Abuja. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Information Science, with research focusing on emerging technologies and the application of artificial intelligence in libraries and knowledge management.
A Certified Librarian of Nigeria (CLN), Ibrahim is an active member of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), FCT Chapter, and a Fellow of the Nigerian School on Internet Governance (NSIG). His professional affiliations reflect a strong commitment to advancing librarianship, promoting digital inclusion, and shaping policies that improve equitable access to knowledge in an increasingly digital world. With extensive expertise in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Ibrahim has led the implementation of modern library systems, digital repositories, institutional knowledge platforms and library automation initiatives. His work has strengthened information accessibility, enhanced service delivery and supported the creation of dynamic learning environments that meet the evolving needs of students, academics and researchers.

His research interests encompass Library and Information Science, information policy, digital transformation, emerging technologies and artificial intelligence. Through research, publications and professional engagements, he continues to contribute to the advancement of knowledge while championing innovation in academic libraries.
