Ahmad Salisu Garba PhD

Dr. Ahmed Salisu Garba began his career in 2012 as a lecturer II at Bauchi State University and finally advanced to the post Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic. He is currently an associate professor of law. He served as the Senate Committee on Students Disciplinary Committee’s Acting Head from 2013 to 2014, the Private and Business Law Department’s Acting Head from January 2, 2013, to December 31, 2016, and the Senate Committee on Examinations Misconduct’s Chairman from May 2015 to June 2018. All of these positions were held by him before his appointment. In addition, he held the positions of Senate Representative to the Bauchi State University, Gadau Council, from 2019 to 2020, Chaiman of the Part Timme Degree Programme Board from 2020 to the present, and Chairman of the Housing Committee from January 1 to February 2, 2020. Chairman of the Senate Business Committee, the Committee of Deans and Directors, the Strategic Planning Committee, the University Research Committee, the University ICT-Policy Committee, and the Task Force on Academic Programme Accreditation. He is a member of numerous academic and professional bodies, including the NBA. Member (SCN045883] of the Muslim Lawers Association of Nigeria (MULAN), the African Consortium for Law and Religion Scholars, and the Nigerian Association of Nigerian Law Teachers (NANLT). He joined the USA-based Eudoxia Research University and the FMERC (Fellow member of the Eudoxia Research Centre) in June, 2022. Additionally, Fellow Brigham Young University on Religion and Rule of Law as well as a visiting researcher at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights at the University of Oslo, Norway, from August 20, 2022, to September 7, 2022, and the University of Iowa College of Law from August 2013 to December 2013.

From March 2005 to October 207, he served as a research assistant on the Shari’a Documentation Project (under the direction of Dr. Philip Ostien). Along with Dr. Philip Ostien and Sani Umar, he served as a research assistant on the Shari’a implementation in Northern Nigeria, Fifteen Years Later, from January 2016 to October 31, 2017. He has authored and published more than 28 articles in peer-reviewed international journals on subjects related to law and religion, including policy in Africa, law, artificial intelligence, and public policy. Additionally, he has delivered papers at various regional and international conferences, particularly in the United States, the United Kingdom, and African countries.
